Hey guys! Quick update time!
Speaking of the time— It’s currently late on a Thursday night, and I’m sitting here in my quiet and rather depressing dorm room working on “The Blood of the Traveler”. This week is dead week at my university, the week that most students tend to wish that they were, in fact, dead.
Thankfully, this week has been mostly free for me. Many of my finals are simple essay-related assignments that don’t require much preparation, and I’ve already prepared in every way that I know how. This means, of course, that creative writing has been my priority in all the time that I can afford to spare.
Anyway… Remember that first DREADSCAPES post? Well, Blood of the Traveller is almost 25 pages long now.
Feel old yet?
Seriously though, I’m shocked at how quickly this short story has grown into a little baby novella. What’s even crazier is that it’s still growing, and at a RAPID pace. I’ve predicted that it’ll be sitting pretty at nearly 50 pages by the time it’s all over. If that’s the case, then I’m roughly halfway through by now. This puts me a bit behind schedule, but hey— it happens. I’d rather have a short story blossom into something much bigger that actually gets completed.
I can’t share anything else right now as far as chapter samples or anything like that, but I will if the opportunity arises. I do intend on making some posts soon that dive a bit deeper into the actual writing process of this particular story and what my experiences have been like.
In the meantime, stay tuned for more. I can’t wait to share the final product.
Thanks for Reading!
(Also— did you see that mock book cover up there?! I love it. I think I can make a better one though.)
