ANONYMOUS ANXIETY

Welcome to the first ever Anonymous Anxiety Status Report(TM)!

This post shouldn’t be too lengthy, but hopefully it’ll be informative and fascinating at the same time as I dive into the progress I’ve made on my upcoming novel, Foxgloves and Fireflies, in an analytical way that I’ve never really done before on this blog.

Let’s get going!

First off: Let’s do a refresher.

In case you’re new here or you don’t remember, Foxgloves and Fireflies is my upcoming Horror/Ergodic-inspired Drama/Weird Fiction novel that features three dreadful (and intertwined?) tales: The Blood of the Traveler, Fireflies on Cane Street, and The Death of Giles Corey.

These three tales explore the meaning of life, death, and destiny— each in their own unique way. And, as of right now, I’ve been in the process of writing them for almost ONE WHOLE YEAR! Should that be celebrated? I dunno. I’m proud of it, nevertheless.

But the big news, folks, is this: The Blood of The Traveler is now complete! Hypothetically speaking, I’m 1/3 of the way to completion. Realistically, however, I’m probably more like 1/5 of the way there. In reality, these three tales aren’t split evenly.

Currently, The Death of Giles Corey is scheduled to be approximately twice the length of The Blood of The Traveler, which is already sitting pretty at over 16,500 words. The second of the trilogy, Fireflies on Cane Street, is scheduled to be slightly shorter than The Blood of The Traveler and has begun production (is that what you call it? Maybe drafting is more appropriate…) as of last week.

While I still have many miles left to run, I can’t help but think of the finish line. That’s why I’ve begun research (when I’m not writing, of course) on some local publishers and some potential editing help, etc.

As soon as I have more news about the publishing end of things, I’ll let the world know; but as you can see, I still have a long road ahead of me.

As for some website news on the side, I wanna let you all know that I’ll likely be tweaking and updating the site over the next few months. If you see some crazy changes, don’t be too alarmed!

I guess that’s it for now. I better get back to writing.
